It is so brilliant of the program to have high table each week. Even though we usually have plenty to look forward to already, this Thursday tradition gives us something to look forward to when getting out of bed on Monday morning feels so tough. We eagerly check the memo board to see if it's our week to sit among the professors at high table. We plan what dress we will wear that week. We plot where we will take our night after our long dinner. Even though its just dinner, everyone gets dressed up + dolled up and there is an undeniable buzz in the dinning hall; a feeling as though everyday, every meal, should have a little bit of "specialness," because without that, what's the fun in life, you know?
This week we feasted on goat cheese salad + lamb with potatoes and veggies + red wine + peach ice cream.
After dinner, to commemorate the end of our first three weeks of Oxford courses, Professor Sam Potts (our smart and nice, dorky yet totally cool, Greek Warfare history professor) bought our first round at the pub.
Adjusting to school life come January is going to be a challenge.
